Getting here

City and river Main

Würzburg is at the crossroads of major European travel routes - both road and rail.

The Main Station links the city directly with more than 30 major European metropolises. Passing through Würzburg in a 24-hour period are no less than 365 ICE, IC, EC and D-Zug expresses alone.

On the East-West axis, Würzburg is reached via the A3 highway, and on the North-South axis by A7, with 6 access roads leading to the city. Five additional federal highways make reaching Würzburg easy.

Smaller aircraft can land at local Schenkenturm Airfield. Passengers on regularly scheduled airlines land in Frankfurt/ Main or Nuremberg. From Frankfurt, there are direct IC rail connections at hourly intervals. To Nuremberg, travel time with ICE is just under 1 hour. Travelers who prefer a more romantic arrival are likely to embark on a cruise ship of the Main River fleet.
