SPECIAL EXHIBITION: Codex Manesse exhibition in Heidelberg

1 November 2010 – 20 February 2011, The Codex Manesse is the most famous medieval German manuscript. It was compiled in the early 14th century and it contains the most extensive collection of Middle High German songs and poetry

The Codex Manesse is the most famous medieval German manuscript. It was compiled in the early 14th century and it contains the most extensive collection of Middle High German songs and poetry. The oldest pieces have been dated to the Golden Age of the Hohenstaufen dynasty in the 12th century. 
The original document, a priceless piece of German history, will be on display in the university library as part of the 625th anniversary in 2011 of the founding of Heidelberg University.
